Picnic Basket

DSC_4237Here is a picnic basket I made out of chipboard, it was so fun and easy to make. I made a large one first and then a small one for a video tutorial. You can find a video tutorial at the bottom of this post. I used medium weight chipboard. I cut 16 pieces @ 8 1/2″x1/2″ and 16 pieces @ 6″x1/2″ and 32 pieces @ 6″x1/2″ then weaved 9 pieces per side and glued all the ends with hot glue. I made a base that measured 9 1/2″x7″ scored 1/2″ on all 4 sides and glued all the sides on the scored tabs. I used 2″x1″x1/2″ pieces to connect the corners. I crackle painted all the pieces using brown acrylic paint as the base, then white glue, and a very generous coat of light pink paint on top of the wet glue. As it dried it crackled. I punched all the holes for the handles and the lid and embellished. I hope you like my picnic baskets and try it yourself. If you need chipboard for your project you can find some here! Thank you for stopping by 🙂
