Day 3 of 10 Days of Christmas Ornaments with Cynthialoowho! 2014

More filigrees!!! I purchased these filigrees from Dee (DK Crafts facebook group) I love working with filigrees and I think they are perfect for making ornaments look vintage and shabby chic. This is a very easy ornament to make, in the past, I’ve made this same ornament with paper and bling mesh. Once I created the ornament I used some Lindy’s Stamp Gang 2 toned embossing powders to add some color so it would match my Christmas theme. I used Stardust Candy Rose embossing powder and just sprinkled it here and there while the filigree was hot so it would melt on contact. Melting your embossing powder on the filigree makes the melted powder part of the filigree so it won’t come off it also helps create a base for adhesives that won’t usually work on metals. 1. Beautiful, of course. I am about to place an order for filigrees, any hints as to what we will need for next ornaments?
    Thanks

  2. Another gorgeous ornement. I love it. It’s a great tip to emboss your metal piece before glueing something on it. Thanks for sharing,

I would love to hear from you, please leave a comment!
